Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef 85/15 preferred
  • 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1 small fresh chili finely chopped (or 1 tbsp chili sauce)
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine leaves separated
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil for cooking

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Chop garlic, ginger, chili, and green onions. Wash and dry lettuce leaves well.
  2. Heat a skillet over high heat and add oil. Add ground beef and let it brown without stirring.
  3. Cook until deeply browned and slightly crispy, then remove excess fat from the pan.
  4. In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, and chili. Sauté until fragrant.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Add fish sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir well.
  6. Turn off heat. Stir in lime juice, sesame oil, and green onions.
  7. Spoon beef into lettuce cups and serve immediately.
